When Learning Experts LINE invited us into IKEA, the share price was down and so was staff morale. We recognised that the company had become disconnected from the heart of Ivar Kampraad’s vision “To make a better life for the ordinary person”.
We recommended re-telling the founding story as a contemporary parable. Over the next 12 months it was workshopped to all 130,000 staff including senior management.
Because we tapped into people’s hearts, not just their heads, staff were still talking about it 5 years later. We went on to do the same with the company’s business model and customer experience.
